Two wrongs doesn’t make a right

GOOD DAY  friends! Recently I have had this topic on my heart and this one verse stuck in my head:

“But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.” Matthew 5:44

This verse is extremely important though it also can be one of the toughest to live out. I know it seems impossible to not retaliate when a sibling is non- stop “annoying” you or when that one person keeps commenting unnecessary things that make you want to go crazy.  God says even though you want to get revenge on them, instead love one another as I have loved you! The enemy wants us to slap the people back but God says to turn the other cheek if they are hungry give them food. “But I say to you, do not resist an evil person; but whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also.” (Matthew 5:39) It is like uh- We have to  Whatttt?… Are ya sure about that God ? Honestly, it’s a challenge to fight against the millions of temptations: to choose anger instead of love. We can so easily struggle with this because leaning towards what our human nature wants is easier. BUT God doesn’t call us as his children to do what’s easiest! He says this world will hate you, but I will always love you. This road I have walked is tough, but as I have heard,” I would rather stand by God and be judged by the world, than to stand with the world and be judged by GOD.” Jesus was hated by people, yet he still loved them enough to take on the sins of this world, WILLINGLY.

It gives me LOTS of chills just reading through to when Jesus was on the painful cross and he asked, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing. And they divided up his clothes by casting lots.” (Luke 23:34). JESUS! in the moment of suffering and death thought of those who persecuted him those who wronged against him. Through complete pain Jesus stopped to ask God to forgive the thieves who jeered at him on the cross, the Romans who put the crown of thorns on his head, those who beat him almost to death and he even asked forgiveness for the angry group who wanted Jesus to be crucified!

All this brings me to the thought: Why treat someone poorly with what they might deserve if we too deserve death? Yet Jesus took on all our sins! It could have been us hanging with our sins on that cross but he willingly took it for us. (THANK YOU JESUS!!) In the end why are we trying to get even with someone when we our selfs are technically already even, deserving of the same thing. Those who usually act wrongly have a roughened  heart in the inside and all they need is that love that Jesus provides to make it a heart of flesh.

Another thought is when you go into a drive through and they inform you that “Your meal had been payed for.” And then you want to pay it forward to the next. THE KINDNESS doesn’t have to start when it comes to you, be the first to pass on the kindness! When you love Jesus so much it becomes that much easier to love those who even might annoy you.

Bottom line:

•••KILL EM’ WITH KINDNESS & LOVE THOSE WHO PERSECUTE YOU & BE A LIGHT TO THOSE TOO DEEP IN DARKNESS GO SEE!•••

Have a blessed week, love you all & Jesus sure does too! 🙂

Challenge:

Love on those that can be hard to love and try a random act of kindness!

Verses:

“Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, “VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY,” says the Lord.” -Romans 12:19

“But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for He Himself is kind to ungrateful and evil men.” Luke 6:35

“BUT IF YOUR ENEMY IS HUNGRY, FEED HIM, AND IF HE IS THIRSTY, GIVE HIM A DRINK; FOR IN SO DOING YOU WILL HEAP BURNING COALS ON HIS HEAD.” Romans 12:20

“TWO WRONGS don’t make a RIGHT.”
